Werkout Wednesday: Beachbody

February 13, 2019

What up Workout Wednesday Warriors!! Happy Mid-Week to yoooou!!

Today's feature is on BEACHBODY! If you haven't heard of Beachbody then you probably haven't been on social media or accidentally got hooked into a late night infomercial in the last ten to fifteen years. If you haven't heard the name Beachbody then you probably have heard of P90X, Turbo Kickboxing or the 21 Day Fix. These are all part of the Beachbody company.

Heard of it and still haven't tried it? Well read on.

Tried it? Read on to see if we agree.

Want to know what the heck I'm talking about? You guessed it...read on to learn more.

Before we get started...I really need new suggestions and recommendations for our Werkout Wednesday feature so what do you want to see? Where do you want me to go? What are you scared to try? What are you loving and want to spread the word? Please let me know! I want to hear from YOU!

Message me on Inclusion Health's Instagram and Facebook and check out that space for all the photos and videos of our werkouts. Can't wait to hear from you!

So here it is...my review of one of the biggest fitness companies in the nation...Beachbody!!

Location: On demand videos, online, on the app, on DVD

Class: I have tried a TON of their classes so I will give you a summary of all of them.

Description: High intensity interval training (HIIT) on demand classes that you can do anywhere and any time that you have a phone, tablet, laptop or TV. Some classes and programs focus more on dance and basic yoga while most focus on strength building and cardio.

Level: Moderate: These classes are challenging in a good way. Their programs do tend to build on themselves. For example if it is a 60 day program, the beginning of the 60 days will be slightly less difficult than towards the end, as it is meant to cater to you becoming stronger and more advanced. I would say that all the classes are adequately challenging for people who are already in shape and since you're in the comfort of your own home you can level up or level down as needed. They are meant to find transformation and results so they will kick your butt just about any level or fitness you're at.

Geared Towards: People that don't like gyms or group workout classes. These on demand programs are done in your home and on your own. I find that this means you need to keep yourself accountable since no one will really know if you don't make it to your workout. It is however great for people who travel a lot for work/play or are busy at home on a regular basis.

What I Loved: I used this platform quite a bit a few years ago when I was traveling constantly and it really helped me workout anywhere and anytime. If you have kept up with this blog at all, you know that I love a good online workout since I am so often on the road and need to make my hotel room into a workout space. I must say that this platform has helped me do that many times.

What I Would Improve: *Disclaimer* Not everyone will agree with me on this opinion and that is ok! If you LOVE Beachbody and it works for you then I love that and am so proud of you! For me, and this is just my opinion, I found Beachbody as a company to be a little pushy and a pretty expensive. With their workout video programs comes a very pricey subscription to their Shakeology product which is essentially a vitamin and protein shake that is good but I didn't find it to be the miracle precut that they claim it to be. You are also pushed to become a coach, which I did try for a little while, and know that a lot of people have found great success, but for me the pyramid business model just wasn't my forte.

The Studio: I have said it once and I will say it again, at home workouts are great! No one is watching so it doesn't matter what you look like. Wear those see through yoga pants. Take your shirt off. Rock those booty shorts that you should really throw out but haven't yet. No one can see you so you do you boo!

How to Access: Most likely you know a Beachbody coach. You have probably seen your cousin or your friends girlfriend posting on social media about it or heard Sarah in accounting talking about it in the office. If you haven't come across a Beachbody coach then it is very easy to find them online. Reach out to any of them and they will help you get signed up.

Now head on over to our Instagram and Facebook pages to watch my story of doing Autum's 80 Day Obsession class. I absolutely love this trainer and have a lot of respect for her. She always kicks my butt and usually makes me laugh too. I also love all of Sean T's classes. These trainers are really amazing at what they do and motivate me like crazy! If you have tried Beachbody send me your thoughts and opinions! I'd love to hear from you!
