Werkout Wednesday: oneoeight.com
Woohoo its Workout Wednesday again!!
The Holidays are here in full swing and I hope you are all enjoying them! The sights of lights twinkling, the smells of sweetness and the sounds of family yelling at each other in the other room.
Oooooh aren't the Holidays just the best?!?
But lets be honest, the gift buying, the crowded travel, the extra people around the house and the crazy snowstorms can lead to a little bit of additional stress. Thats why I think it is an important time to remember to keep up your workouts, remember to sweat out the extra sweet treats and stress and keep stretching your body so you can stay sane and flexible throughout the coming month.
Thats why this week I did one of my favorite on the go workouts through www.oneoeight.com. These are yoga classes and meditation videos that you can do anywhere, anytime. With the busy holiday season and traveling to see friends and family, it is often hard to find the time to go to your usual studio or gym so I love finding workouts I can do in a house or hotel room with just a computer. Also, I travel constantly for work, so long after the holidays have come and gone, these anywhere, anytime workouts are my lifeline to staying fit.
Lets dig in with the review of oneoeight.com! And make sure you are following Inclusion Health on Instagram and Facebook for all the photos and videos of our werkouts. And PLEASE send me your suggestions for new workouts so I can go try them. Email or DM me on social media because I want to hear from you!
City: ANYWHERE you are!!!
Class: Move Like Water Vinyasa Flow
Description: The specific class I did this week was a lovely vinyasa flow yoga practice that encouraged fluidity and movement. Although, oneoeight.com has a huge variety of yoga and meditation videos that range in level, length of time and styles of yoga. So whether you are a beginner or advanced yoga practitioner who has 20 minutes or an hour and a half, you can find a video that suits your needs.
Level: All!! While the specific class that I did this week is ranked on their website as a level two, you can sort through the videos and filter them by level. So if you're just starting out you can just do the beginner classes, if you are a seasoned yogi, you can pick an advanced class, and if you're like me, some days I need a challenge and some days I need something basic. It all depends on my mood and body that day.
Geared Towards: Anyone...really! Because of the wide variety of yoga classes available on this site, I think that everyone could find something. There are classes taught by younger and older people, men and women and many different personalities so I think that everyone could find a teacher and a practice that resonates with them. Since you are able to do it in the privacy of your own home or space, this allows anyone to feel comfortable in increasing their knowledge and abilities of yoga without the intimidation factor of a studio, or even people watching you.
What I Loved: Because I am constantly traveling for work or pleasure, I love a workout that travels with me. I like that I don't have to do my hair or look presentable, or even put on pants if I don't want to and I can still get in a beautiful yoga practice or meditation in my hotel room, house or in a park somewhere. As a yoga teacher and regular practitioner, I also love the variety in the classes. I get inspiration for my own classes and am reminded of different styles that I don't usually see in my regular studios. I like that I can find new and challenging classes but I feel like my mom who doesn't do yoga very often could also find a class. The variety is great!
What I Would Improve: Maybe have an app in addition to their website. This might make the on the go experience even a little more accessible.
The Studio: Everything is online so the studio is anywhere and everywhere you want to be. I did this particular class on a hotel balcony in San Diego, California but have done their other classes when I was traveling all over the world. It is convenient, easy and really relaxing when you can make the space your own.
How to Access: Go to oneoeight.com and you can sign up for a free trial and then if you like it then you can pay for a monthly subscription. This gives you access to their videos and articles anytime you want them.
Now head on over to our Instagram and Facebook pages to watch my story of taking class. You may notice that I look pretty blissed out and you are right. Sunshine outside, my own private space and yoga while traveling. Not much in life can make this girl happier. But if you are in the cold snow, have three kids crawling on you and a work to do list longer than Santa's naughty list, you can still enjoy the benefits of these amazing yoga classes and meditation practices. Remember, you cannot take care of anyone else unless you are taking care of yourself. So in the season of giving, give yourself the gifts of health, sweat, strength and endorphins! Now go find your own Workout Wednesday and let us know how it goes! We want to hear from you!
